Today, more than 150 industrial minds from Consumer Goods/ Retail enterprises convened at the Marriott Hotel Pudong East in Shanghai China to discuss Retail Supply Chain Trends, Digitalization, Supply Chain Agility and Flexibility, Sourcing and Supplier Collaboration and Sustainability. Consumer-Driven Supply Chain Summit 2018, an executive event, hosted by the supply chain consulting firm, Beverf, features an unrivaled lineup of speakers and presentations, all of which are designed to learn advanced supply chain solutions and establish great connections.

The event’s agenda, which features two dozen supply chain luminaries from global corporations across many industries, tackled a vast array of exciting topics within the world of supply management. These executives, from Deloitte, SPAR, Henkel, Carrefour, SAP, IBM, Honeywell, Nokia, and more, shared their opinions.

At the conference, Tom Rose,Head of International Operations of SPAR international & Haibin Tang, Head of Logistics of SPAR China gave a speech on “Digital Engagement and Impact on Supply Chain-exceeding the needs of the next shopping generation”. They predicted that the future customers would be web-native, well connected, well informed, fond of convenience and personalised experience.

Then, Joel Ma,Business strategy director--Asia Pacific of Hallmark Cards Limited, came up with four challenges faced by consumer products industry including: decline in brand loyalty, uncertainty about consumer spending, increased regulatory scrutiny and ineffective innovation capabilities.

With the theme “Supply Chain transformation enabling growth and agility”, Johannes Giloth, the SVP Global Operations and Chief Procurement Officer of Nokia, talked about four ways to digitalize the supply chain at all levels and operate like an e-commerce company, including: procurement digitalization, integrated business, planning digital manufacturing & distribution and customer centric. In the end, he sublimated the conclusion that technology is not enough to go from transformation to revolution, the key is people, and our ability to engage a mindset shift.
