What is Devolved Procurement?

In a devolved operating model, procurement decentralizes its operations and vests authority in other departments and stakeholders of the business. This means that different teams have the freedom to conduct purchasing independently of a central procurement team.

While both centralized and devolved procurement structures have their pros and cons, the devolved structure allows different stakeholders to use their expertise in purchasing and effectively deal with category-specific suppliers.
